July started with the World Ecological Forum – an event we hope is to grow in years to come. On 3 July the Baltic Forum had its annual meeting with the advisory committee under the chairmanship of the former Secretary of State Jan Eliasson. The picture the environmental experts gave us of the current state of the Baltic Sea wasn’t too good, there is still so much to be done. But the only way is to do it together. Almedalen week started the day after with the Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt´s speech. We hardly thought the political week could grow more but it’s even bigger than last year due to the upcoming elections in September. The EU strategy for the Baltic Sea Region is one of the international issues on the agenda. So Visby is hot in all aspects right now |

As always the beginning of the summer is a busy time on Gotland.
